The No. 11 LSU Tigers (10-3) stopped No. 8 UCF 40-32 in the Fiesta Bowl played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The win gave LSU its first 10-win season since 2013 and snapped the (12-1) UCF Knights 25-game winning streak that dated back to the beginning of the 2017 season. It was a banner day for LSU Quarterback Joe Burrow who connected on 21-of-34 passes for 394 yards and four touchdowns. With less than three minutes to play, the Knights closed to within eight points but the Tigers clinched the victory with a late interception. The Knights got off to a fast start, going up 14-3 on Greg McCrae’s 25-yard TD run and Brandon Moore’s 93-yard interception return. Burrow was named the Fiesta Bowl Offensive MVP, while defensive teammate Rashard Lawrence, who was credited with five tackles and two sacks, took home defensive honors. In his post-game remarks, Oregon praised UCF, calling them a “well-coached and excellent football team.”
