CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The momentum earned by winning the Conference USA East Division title in the fall carried over to the spring season for the Charlotte women’s soccer team, as the 49ers completed another successful campaign with continued program development and a 5-0-1 ledger. The Niners conceded only one goal in their six matches.

For head coach John Cullen, who has posted 60 victories during his tenure with the program, the spring serves as a chance to increase and enhance individual and team development. While he was satisfied with the results, what excited him most was the chance to get his team back on the field and compete each time out.

“The spring was very, very positive for us on a number of fronts,” Cullen said. “We saw massive improvements in the girls’ fitness levels, strength and core. That is the main objective of the spring season, to continue to make them better athletes as well as individually, better soccer players.”

The 49ers will now take the summer months off in preparation for the fall campaign, which will begin with practice and training in early August. The team’s fall schedule will be announced at a later date.
