CHARLOTTE, N.C. – It only took a span of 14 days but once again weather has interfered with the Charlotte 49ers baseball schedule. As a result of heavy rains in the area overnight and throughout the day on Tuesday, the Niners non-conference tilt at Gardner-Webb has been cancelled. A possible make-up date later in the year will be announced if and when available.

Tuesday’s contest becomes the 12th now affected by weather and 10th postponed or cancelled game of the season. Boiling Springs had already received more rain than the Charlotte area at the time of the cancellations with more showers expected throughout the night. It was the one and only meeting scheduled between the two teams.

Charlotte will now get right back into Conference USA play hosting the Green Wave of Tulane this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The three-game series is moved up one day due to Easter Sunday. Thursday’s series-opener will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Friday and Saturday to follow at 3:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m.

Tickets are available for the C-USA weekend set by calling 704-687-4949 or by ordering online by clicking HERE. Live stats/video will also be available for all three games through with in-game updates provided on Twitter by following @49erGameDay, @Charlotte49ers and @NinerBaseball.
