The Charlotte 49ers (14-11, Conference USA: 5-7) play UAB (16-10, C-USA: 5-7) in Halton Arena, February 22 at 3:30 pm. The game will be broadcast nationally on Fox Sports 1.

Before the Charlotte-UAB game, former 49ers standouts will play in the annual men’s basketball alumni game at 12:45 pm. The former 49ers men’s basketball players and managers in attendance will be recognized at halftime of the Charlotte-UAB game.

The last time out, Charlotte lost to Conference USA co-leader Middle Tennessee, 71-49, Thursday. Terrence Williams recorded his 13th double-figure scoring game of the season with 11 rebounds. Pierria Henry scored nine points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists.

Shawn Lester leads the team in scoring at 12.8 points per game. Lester has recorded 17 double-figure scoring games off the bench this season. Henry is the only player in Conference USA that averages double-figure points (11.8 ppg) while averaging five rebounds (5.1 rpg) and five assists (6.13 apg) per game. Willie Clayton (11.4 ppg) and Williams (10.6 ppg) round out the double-figure scorers. Clayton ranks second in Conference USA in rebounds (9.0 rpg). Mike Thorne averages 9.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Denzel Ingram averages 7.3 points per game. Ben Cherry averages 6.6 points per game. Cherry leads Conference USA in three-point field goal percentage (48.8%). Clayton is second in Conference USA in field goal percentage (60.3%). Marcus Bryan scored six points off the bench against Middle Tennessee.

UAB enters the game having won two of their last three games. UAB defeated Marshall on the road, 68-62, Thursday. Chad Frazier leads UAB in scoring at 18.1 points per game. C.J.Washington averages 13.6 points per game and a team-high 7.2 rebounds per game. Rod Rucker averages 11.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.

Saturday’s game will mark 42nd meeting between Charlotte and UAB, who leads the all-time series, 26-15. Charlotte defeated UAB, 91-85, in their last meeting which came in Birmingham, Alabama, January 12, 2005.
