Charlotte, N.C.- The Charlotte 49ers track program head to Winston-Salem, N.C. for the JDL UCS Invitational for its final meet before heading to the Conference USA Indoor Championships Feb. 27-March 1.

Due to inclement weather in the area this week, officials have made the decision to make the invitational a one-day event.  The JDL UCS Invitational will start with the 60m hurdle event at 9 am and will conclude with 4x400m relay at 8 pm.

Joann Blakney sits atop the conference standings in the 60m dash with a 7.37 performance. Blakney is tied for 23rd in the nation in the event.

Anthony Bynum and LeRoy Rouse look to improve their times in the 60m dash heading into the Conference USA Championships sitting in sixth and seventh respectively.  Bynum sits in third in the conference in the 200m.

T'Sheila Mungo looks to put the finishing touches on the 400m and 500m events.  Mungo is currently fourth in the nation in the 500m.  Mungo is third in the conference in the 400m and first in the 500m.

Alvonna Blakney and Juanita Leto sit in the top 20 in the 60m hurdles.  Blakney and Leto will compete at 11:50 am.

Charlotte will have the week off following the JDL UCS Invitational in preparation for the C-USA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala.
