Irving, Texas- Chelsea Ingersoll was tabbed as a 2014 Preseason All-Conference USA selection according to the voting of the league’s 13 coaches.

The Charlotte, N.C. native picked up her first Conference USA accolade to go along with her Atlantic 10 awards from last season.  Last season, Ingersoll was named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team along with Atlantic 10 Player of the week honors.

Ingersoll was second on the team in batting average (.353) and tied for second with 49 hits.  Ingersoll led the team in home runs with 10 and finished with 31 RBI.  The lone senior on this year’s squad played in all 50 games last season missing only one start.  During league play, she hit .388 on her way to being named College Sports Madness Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team.

Charlotte missed out on the A-10 tournament last year finishing in ninth.  This season the veteran team led by Ingersoll and her seven juniors look to make a statement in the new conference.

The 49ers were picked to finish tenth in the 2014 Conference USA Preseason Poll voted on by the league’s coaches.  The Conference USA features seven new programs to push the total from nine last season to 13 this upcoming season.
