About Stephen Doughton, Jr. Foundation
In May 2006, Stephen Doughton, Jr., a 2012 UNC Charlotte graduate and current Associate Director of Basketball Operations with the 49ers, was diagnosed with Chronic Mylogenous Leukemia (CML). He was treated at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (WFBMC) and is currently in remission. After enduring the horror of being a cancer patient and witnessing young children battling cancer, he and his family decided to start a foundation in 2008.
