IRVING, Texas – Senior Alex Kubrick and sophomore Tori Fubara are Charlotte representatives on the postseason All-Conference USA Academic Teams, it was announced Tuesday afternoon by the league office.

Kubrick, a goalkeeper, earned a spot on the All-Academic First Team after registering five shutouts among her eight victories to go along with a 0.98 goals-against average and 80.0 save percentage. She has started all 14 matches in which she has played, gathering 52 saves in 1198:59.

She opened the campaign with the Aug. 26 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week honor, the first of her career. She tallied a season-best seven stops in the road triumph at Western Carolina Sept. 8.

It marks the second-straight year she has been selected to a conference all-academic squad, after also receiving the plaudit from the Atlantic 10 in 2012. She was also an NSCAA All-South Region Honorable Mention academic choice last fall.

The Greensboro, N.C., native carries a 3.93 grade-point average as a public health major.

Fubara picked up her first conference accolade, as she was tabbed to the All-Academic Second Team. She has started four of the 18 matches this season for the 49ers, tallying her lone point, an assist, in the non-conference victory over Gardner-Webb Aug. 27.

Four of her seven shots have been placed on-goal with her last attempt of the year coming in the regular-season finale at Old Dominion Oct. 31.

The Richmond, Va., product holds a 3.91 grade-point average as a psychology major.

Both players played integral roles in Charlotte winning the Conference USA East Division and receiving the No. 1 seed from the division for this week’s league championships in Houston. The 49ers will open conference tournament action at 8 p.m. Eastern against Marshall, a squad they knocked off 1-0 Oct. 25 at Transamerica Field.
