Charlotte, N.C.- The Charlotte 49ers men’s soccer striker Kyle Parker picked up Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week and College Soccer News and's National Teams of the Week honors for his performance against #14 Clemson. Parker was also named College Sports Madness Conference USA Player of the Week as well.

Parker scored two goals, the 49ers’ first and third goals, in Charlotte’s 3-1 win over No. 14 Clemson Oct. 22. He fired a game-high four shots, with both of his shots on goal finding the back of the net. Parker punched home the rebound from a Tyler Gibson shot in the 59th minute to open the scoring and give the 49ers a 1-0 lead. Parker put the finishing touches on the win with a sliding volley from eight yards out to finish off a cross from Giuseppe Gentile that was headed centrally by Will Mayhew. This is Parker’s first career C-USA Offensive Player of the Week award and the first C-USA Offensive honor for the 49ers this season.  Klay Davis picked up two C-USA Defensive Player of the Week honors this season.

Parker leads the 49ers with six goals.  Parker has also tallied two assists on the season.  Parker is the second 49er to record a multi-goal game this season.  Giuseppe Gentile scored twice in the 2-0 win over Denver in the first match of the season. 

Parker and the rest of the Niners men’s soccer team heads to Boca Raton, Fla. as they taken on the Owls of FAU, Wednesday, October 30 at 7 pm.
