Charlotte, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers (4-5-3. C-USA: 0-3-2) will play Conference USA foe Kentucky (4-6-1, C-USA: 1-1-1) at Transamerica Field, Saturday, October 19 at 7 pm.

Also, there will be a FREE pre-game youth clinic on the practice field at 5:30 pm. Clinic participants must be in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Clinic participants must register in advance for the clinic. Clinic registration here.  

The 49ers will wear gold jerseys in recognition of childhood cancer. Twenty-seven of the jerseys will be auctioned off during the game and all the proceeds will go to the Levine Children’s Hospital. The jerseys will be printed with the Levine Children's Hospital logo after the game. Also, donations will be accepted at the game for the Levine Children’s Hospital.

Giuseppe Gentile leads the 49ers with five goals. Kyle parker is second on the team in goals with four. Parker has scored a goal in each of Charlotte’s last two games. Aidan Kirkbride and Luke Waechter are tied for third on the team with three goals apiece. Waechter, David Mayer and Will Mayhew are tied for the team-lead with three assists apiece. Brandt Bronico, Parker and Gentile each have two assists.

The 49ers defense led by goalkeeper Klay Davis and defenders Waechter, Mayer, Thomas Allen, Anthony Perez, Nick Barnhorst and Biko Bradnock-Brennan have recorded five shutouts this season.

Saturday’s game against Kentucky will mark the second-ever meeting between the two teams. In their last meeting, Charlotte defeated Kentucky, 1-0, on the road, September 9, 2012. Gentile scored the game-winning goal for the 49ers. .

Admission to the game is $5 for adults. Clinic participants are admitted free to the game. Admission for youth who don’t participate in the clinic is $2. All Charlotte 49ers students are admitted free with a valid student ID.
