CHARLOTTE, NC - Charlotte 49ers basketball season and mini-pack tickets are now available for purchase for the 2013-14 season by the general public online at Fans have the opportunity to purchase tickets to catch the return to Conference USA by the 49ers men's and women's teams, with both coming off of post season appearances during the 2012-13 season.

The Charlotte men's basketball squad finished 21-12 and featured winning the Great Alaska Shootout and a trip to the NIT. The 49ers return four players who started 20 games or more and six players in total who saw action on the court in 15 or more games. Season tickets begin at $49, with fans also being provided the option of five game partial season or five game flex plans. 49ers women's basketball continued its successful run last season finishing at 26-6 and extending their post season run to 11 straight seasons with a berth in the 2013 WNIT. In their first season back in Conference USA the 49ers will look to extend the streak to twelve, behind the depth of two starters, seven letterwinners, and third-year head coach Cara Consuegra. Season tickets are available starting at $30 for individual season tickets, or the affordable family option in the 49ers Gold Card which provides four season tickets to four sports (women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, and volleyball) for $75. Basketball Fan Day, Madness Slated for Oct. 19, 24

49ers Basketball Fan Day will be one of two events to kick-off the 2013-14 basketball seasons on Saturday, October 19 at 3pm in Halton Arena. Fans will get a first look at the Charlotte men's and women's basketball teams as they participate in intersquad scrimmages, while kids can get autographs from the teams and participate in other activities, including a free youth clinic. The second of the two kick-off events is the annual 49ers Basketball Madness, held on Thursday, October 24 at 9pm and hosted once again this year by 49ers alum and current WACH Meteorologist Garrett Bedenbaugh. The night will consist of a host of entertaining activities - including some favorities with the team introductions, slam dunk contest, and more. UNC Charlotte students in attendance will also have the chance to win $100 from Windsor Jewelers, Papa John's gift cards, and prizes from other sponsors.
