Charlotte, N.C. —  The Charlotte 49ers have announced that WCCB-TV Charlotte has expanded its coverage of the 49ers football program with the addition of the Nov. 2 road game at top 10 Coastal Carolina -- a contest being billed as the “Battle of the Carolinas”.  The game is slated for 3 p.m. and will air in several markets.

Charlotte is enjoying its inaugural football season and WCCB-TV has been the 49ers television partner for the historic first season.  WCCB has televised each of the 49ers home games and was able to add the Coastal Carolina road game to the television package.

The game will air on WCCB-TV in the Charlotte market as well as on WFXB in Florence-Myrtle Beach, S.C. and WOLO-TV in Columbia, S.C.

Coastal Carolina (5-0), located in Conway, S.C.,  is currently ranked #6 in the FCS Coaches poll and #8 in the Sports Network FCS poll.  The 49ers (4-2) are coming off a 53-51 home victory over #24/#25 Gardner-Webb, in which Charlotte scored 29 straight points to overcome a 21-point fourth quarter deficit to record the program’s first win over a nationally-ranked opponent.

In its first season, Charlotte’s broadcast schedule now includes seven games televised by WCCB and an eighth, at Presbyterian, aired by ESPN3.  Through the first four televised games, Charlotte is averaging a 2.9 Household rating with an average audience in over 33,000 homes.

Head coach Brad Lambert has guided the 49ers to a 4-2 start that includes the top 25 win over Gardner-Webb, a road win at Presbyterian and a victory over Campbell in the inaugural game.
