Charlotte, NC – The 49ers won six singles matches and two doubles matches on the final day of the 49ers Invitational at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex. Forrest Edwards went 3-0 to capture the Flight Two Singles title. Frances Pare went 3-0 to capture the Flight Seven Singles title.

In Flight One Singles, Charlotte’s Jack Williams defeated Gardner-Webb’s Benjamin Kaszas, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (4).

In Flight Two Singles, Charlotte’s Forrest Edwards defeated Gardner-Webb’s Ernest Alberch, 6-3, 7-5.

In Flight Four Singles, Charlotte’s Jordi Massalle Ferrer defeated Gardner-Webb’s Brendan Dempsey, 7-5, 7-5.

In Flight Five Singles, Charlotte’s Paul Cisti defeated Gardner-Webb’s Jonathan Walker, 3-6, 7-5, 6-2.

In Flight Six Singles, Charlotte’s Nate Shanok defeated Gardner-Webb’s Tyler Macy, 6-2, 6-1.

In Flight Seven Singles, Charlotte’s Francis Pare defeated Nick Lofrumento, 6-3, 6-2.

In Flight Three Singles, Charlotte’s Alex Calott lost to Gardner-Webb’s Nikita Zverkov in three hard fought sets, 7-6 (9), 0-6, 7-5.  

In Flight Two Doubles, Charlotte’s Cisti and Pare defeated Gardner-Webb’s Alberch and Walker, 8-5.

In Flight Three Doubles, Charlotte’s Massalle Ferrer and Alex Weber defeated Gardner-Webb’s Macy and Lofrumento, 8-1.

In Flight One Doubles, Charlotte’s Williams and Edwards lost to Gardner-Webb’s Kaszas and Zverkov, 8-5.

Charlotte returns to action next weekend at the Jim Causey Invitational hosted by Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina, October 4-5.
