The 49ers first-ever road win came at Presbyterian, where the CCUNC Owls had lost, 33-19, back in 1947 -- in a game between the Charlotte's two-year night school and PC's JV squad.
This was the first of four 49ers games against Big South opponents. The 49ers host Gardner-Webb next week and play at Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern later in the season. Each of those three teams is ranked or receiving votes in the FCS National polls.
The win over Presbyterian was the 49ers first in a game in which they trailed. PC led 7-0 and 14-7, before the 49ers scored 38 straight points.
The 49ers had 50% success (6-of-12) on third down, matching their highest rate this season. The 49ers were also 2-for-2 on fourth down.

For the first time this season, Charlotte did not recover a forced fumble. They did have two interceptions and won the turnover battle 2-1. Charlotte has had more takeways in four of the five games.
The 49ers enjoyed several big plays in the PC win. Charlotte had 11 plays of 15 or more yards -- and each of those plays came on scoring drives. Matt Johnson threw seven passes for gains of 15 or more yards (3 to Trent Bostick; 2 to Justin Bolus) and Alan Barnwell had three runs of 15 or more yards.
