The Charlotte 49ers (2-2-1) begin a four-game homestand when they host Campbell (1-4) at Transamerica Field, Saturday, September 21 at 7 pm.

Charlotte is currently ranked 28th in this week’s College Soccer News Top 30 poll.

Giuseppe Gentile leads the 49ers with three goals. Luke Waechter and Aidan Kirkbride have each scored a goal this season for the 49ers.

The 49ers defense led by goalkeeper Klay Davis and defenders Waechter, Thomas Allen, Anthony Perez, David Mayer, Nick Barnhorst and Biko Bradnock-Brenna have recorded two shutouts this season.

Saturday’s game will mark the 20th meeting between Charlotte and Campbell. The 49ers enter the game with a 14-3-2 series advantage. Charlotte has won seven of the last eight meetings between the two teams. The 49ers have won nine of the ten meetings between the two teams in Charlotte including a 2-0 victory in their last meeting which came at Transamerica Field, September 24, 2011. Gentile scored the 49ers first goal in that game which was his first career goal. Former 49ers standout Evan James scored the 49ers other goal.

Admission to the game is $5 for adults and $2 for youth (17-and-under). All Charlotte 49ers students are admitted free with a valid student ID.
