Charlotte volleyball finishes with a split Saturday and for the weekend in a 3-0 loss (25-17, 25-12, 25-20) to Tennessee to complete the Comfort Inns and Suites Invitational, hosted by UT-Chattanooga tonight. Charlotte ends the weekend at 3-4, while Tennessee ends the weekend at 6-1.
For the first time this season, Charlotte did not produce a double-digit performer in the kills column, with senior captain Amanda Videmsek (Highland Heights, Ohio / Beaumont School) collecting a team-best eight kills in the nightcap.
The 49ers were limited to an .093 attack percentage and just 33 digs, their lowest totals in those categories this season. Tennessee was very efficient, hitting for a .355 attack percentage in the contest.
Sophomore setter Britney Leigh Held (Brookfield, Wis. / Brookfield Central HS) led Charlotte with 25 assists, while redshirt freshman Jackie Servais (Larkspur, Colo. / Douglas County HS) led the team defensively with 10 digs.
The 49ers will head to Norfolk, Va. next weekend, playing in the Spartan Classic, hosted by Norfolk State. Charlotte will play one match per day, starting Thursday night against host NSU at 7 p.m.
