Charlotte, NC – The nationally-ranked Charlotte 49ers men’s soccer team hosts Davidson at Transamerica Field in their final exhibition game, Saturday, August 24 at 7 pm.

Charlotte returns seven starters and 15 letterwinners from last season’s Atlantic 10 Regular-Season Champion and NCAA Tournament participant squad. The 49ers went 15-4-3 and 7-1-1 in the Atlantic 10 last season.

Kevin Langan, who is entering his second season as head coach, returns several key players including All-Atlantic 10 and All-Mid-Atlantic region selections Tyler Gibson, Thomas Allen, Giuseppe Gentile and Klay Davis.

Charlotte also return stalwarts Nick Barnhorst, Dominic Bonilla, Biko Bradnock-Brennan, Aidan Kirkbride, David Mayer, Will Mayhew, Kyle Parker, Anthony Perez and Robby Thomas.

Charlotte defeated Winthrop, 2-0, behind goals by Perez and Gibson in their first exhibition game last Tuesday.

Charlotte begins the regular-season on the road at the University of Denver, Friday, August 30 at 9:30 pm.

Admission is free for the Charlotte-Davidson game on Saturday night.
