The Charlotte 49ers men’s basketball team will play Big 12 foe Kansas State in the first-round of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off, Thursday, November 21 at 10:30 a.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU. This game will mark the first-ever meeting between Charlotte and Kansas State.

Joining the 49ers and Kansas State in the field for the seventh annual event is Florida State, Georgetown, Long Beach State, Northeastern, Michigan and VCU.

Charlotte will play either Northeastern or Georgetown in their second game at the Puerto Rico Tip-Off, Friday, November 22. Charlotte defeated Northeastern in the Championship game of this 2012 Great Alaska Shootout.

The Puerto Rico Tip-Off will be played at the Roberto Clemente Coliseo in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Thursday, November 21, Friday, November 22 and Sunday, November 24. All the games in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off will be broadcast on either ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN3.

Each team will play one game each day with the two teams that are undefeated after two days meeting in the championship game, Sunday, November 24 at 6:30 pm.

Previous winners of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off include Oklahoma State, Alabama, Minnesota, Villanova, Xavier and Miami (Fla.).
