Conference History: This will be FIU’s first year as a member of Conference USA. Previously, it was a part of the Sun Belt Conference since 1998.

Athletic Highlights: Baseball has reached postseason 14 times in school’s history, including 10 NCAA DI Regionals since 1991. Football team earned back-to-back bowl bids in 2010 (Little Caesar’s Bowl) and 2011 (Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl). Men’s soccer has won two Division II National Titles and has made eight Division I postseason appearances. Women’s basketball has advanced to 11 DI postseason tournaments in the last 33 years.

Noteworthy Accomplishments: In 2011, FIU Law School had 90 percent of graduates pass the Florida Bar, the highest of all the Florida Law Schools. In 2000, FIU became the youngest university to be awarded a Phi Beta Kappa chapter, the country's oldest and most distinguished academic honor society.Ranked No. 1 in the country for granting bachelor’s degrees to minorities.
