CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A few members of the Charlotte track and field team competed at the Aggie Last Chance Meet in Greensboro on Sunday afternoon.

The meet was hosted by N.C. A&T State University, which will be the site of the NCAA East Regional on May 23-25.

Trey McRae came in fourth in the long jump with a season-best mark of 23’04.50. Will Thomas finished fifth in the high jump with a season-best leap of 6’06.75. In the triple jump, Desmond Stearns finished with a personal-best leap of 47’00.75 to come in seventh. John Celona was fifth in the hammer throw with a personal-best toss of 165’03. Osvaldo Hernandez finished third in the javelin throw (171’11).

Chris Tate posted a time of 47.84 in the 400m dash to finish fifth.

Briauna Jones finished third in the triple jump with a season-best leap of 39’08.50. Jones also claimed sixth in the long jump (18’07.75).

In the high jump, Lauren Gulley was fifth with a leap of 5’02.25.Jana Eatman and Sara Fell tied for third in the pole vault with a mark of 10’00.50. Toby Jo Klauenberg was fourth in the shot put (43’00.25).

The last day for running an eligible qualifying time or distance was Sunday, May 12. The student-athletes that have posted the best times this season that rank in the top 48 of their respective event(s) and declare to compete in them qualify for the two NCAA regional championship meets (East and West). The list of student-athletes, by event, who have been accepted to compete in each preliminary championships competition will be announced on Thursday, May 16, by 1 p.m. ET.
