Monday, Charlotte golf plans a watch party to find out which regional the team will go for the opening round of the NCAA Postseason, which will take place May 16-18. The team will gather in the ATAC video room inside the Miltimore-Wallis Center for the announcement, which will air live on at 9 p.m.

81 teams and 45 individuals will be assigned to six regions on Monday night. The regional locations are Baton Rouge, La., Tallahassee, Fla., Columbus, Ohio, Fayetteville, Ark., Pullman, Wash. and Tempe, Ariz.

Charlotte coach Ryan Cabbage and the team will gather for the announcement ahead of preparations for the Regional, the program’s school-record ninth-straight trip to the postseason.

The 49ers earned the automatic berth by virtue of their win at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships last weekend. Charlotte finished a 20-under par, winning by eight shots. Sophomore Raoul Menard (Ange-Gardier, Quebec City / Beaulieu) won the individual title for the second straight season, becoming the eighth player in league history to win two titles, the seventh to win it in back-to-back seasons. Cabbage won his first Conference Coach of the Year honor and Menard repeated as Golfer of the Year.

The tournament win was the first for Charlotte this season, but the sixth Top-Five finish for the 49ers in 11 events in 2012-13. It was Charlotte’s seventh A-10 Championship title in eight seasons of league membership. The 49ers finished as high as third in the National Championship in golf, at the 2007 Championships.
