The Charlotte golf program will head to the Midwest for its final regular-season tournament of the year, competing in the 54-hole Great River Entertainment-Hawkeye Invitational, to be contested at the par-72, 7,239-yard Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, Iowa. The 12-team field will play 36 holes on Saturday morning, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Central Time. The field will finish the tournament with a final round of 18 holes on Sunday, starting at 9 a.m.

Iowa has won five of the last seven titles heading into this 20th edition of the tournament, which has taken a few years off since beginning in 1970. Charlotte has not won the tournament title, but Andy Sajevic tied for medalist honors with a 142 in a snow-shortened 2011.

Charlotte and host Iowa will be joined by Iowa State, Kansas, Miami of Ohio, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State, Washington State and Wisconsin. None of the field is ranked in the Top 50 of the latest Golfweek rankings.
