We had times today when we didn’t execute the shots we needed to execute. On a few of these hole locations, the ball had to be in certain spot on the green from the fairways or the tee boxes. At times, we did execute and were able to make those birdies, but a few other times we hurt ourselves. We know exactly what is there in front of us by playing this course and being familiar with it. It just comes down to execution for us. I expect we will come out tomorrow ready to play and execute those shots tomorrow.
Charlotte moved up one spot to ninth from round one to round two after 36 holes on Saturday at the Irish Creek Collegiate, co-hosted by Charlotte, Davidson and the Charlotte Sports Foundation at The Club at Irish Creek and its Par-71, 7,099-yard course.
The 49ers are at 17-over (294 291 585) and trail Kansas by one stroke and Marshall by two strokes with one round left to play on Sunday.
North Carolina sits one-under after two rounds (282 285 567) and has a four shot lead over second-place Davidson with a five-shot edge over North Carolina State and UNC Wilmington.
“We had times today when we didn’t execute the shots we needed to execute,” said Charlotte head coach Ryan Cabbage. “On a few of these hole locations, the ball had to be in certain spot on the green from the fairways or the tee boxes.
