The Charlotte 49ers men’s tennis team (10-7), who has had 13 days off since their last match, return to action on the road at Atlantic 10 rival Richmond, Saturday, April 6 at 12 pm. Charlotte coach Billy Boykin returns to Richmond as the 49ers head coach. Boykin was the Richmond head coach from 2008-10.

"Our match with Richmond is sure to be a good one,” Boykin said. “They have an experienced and talented team and we'll need a good overall effort from top to bottom on Saturday."

Jordi Massalle Ferrer, who has won 11 of his last 12 matches, leads the 49ers with 23 singles wins. Massalle Ferrer’s 23 singles wins ties him for the 10th highest single-season wins total in school history. Jack Williams and Alex Calott each have 16 singles win. Paul Cisti has 15 singles wins. Kamil Khalil has won five straight matches giving him nine singles wins on the season.

Khalil and Krzysztof Kwasniewicz have combined for nine doubles wins. Massalle Ferrer and Williams have posted a 9-2 doubles record this season. The doubles team of Calott and Cisti has also won nine doubles matches this season.

This match will mark the 16th meeting between Charlotte and Richmond. The 49ers lead the all-time series, 10-5.
