CULLOWHEE, N.C. -- Inclement weather forced the cancellation of the Charlotte women's tennis match at Western Carolina in Cullowhee, N.C., Friday afternoon. The two teams were able to complete doubles action before rain hit the area and forced all players to be pulled from the courts in the midst of singles contests.

The 49ers had claimed the doubles point for a 1-0 edge, but because of the cancellation, the advantage becomes null and no scores count.

Charlotte, with a current three-match win streak to improve to 9-4 on the dual match campaign, will look to return to the courts at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Boiling Springs, N.C., against Gardner-Webb.
