Charlotte has won its first Rookie of the Week honor of the season, as freshman Sean Geoghegan (High Point, N.C. / Southwest Guilford HS) earned the recognition by the league Monday.

Geoghegan came in from the bullpen twice for the week, both against 2012 College World Series participant and Eugene, Ore. Super Regional winner Kent State. Friday night, he threw three perfect innings while the offense came back to beat the Golden Flashes 5-4 for his first collegiate win. He struck out four in the spotless appearance. He gave up one hit, a harmless single up the middle that was left on base in a relief inning in Sunday's extra-inning loss.

He has not allowed a run in 5.2 season innings, giving up just three hits and one walk in six appearances. He has recorded seven strikeouts in that span.

The league also tabbed Saint Louis senior Grant Nelson its baseball Player of the Week and Butler's Eric Stout as Pitcher of the Week.
