The Charlotte 49ers (20-10, A-10: 8-8), who finished the season tied for eighth in the A-10, are the ninth seed at this week's Atlantic 10 Tournament which will be played at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, March 14-17. The 49ers play the eighth seed Richmond in the first game of the Tournament, Thursday, March 14 at Noon. The game will be broadcast on the NBC Sports Network. The winner of the game advances to play top seed Saint Louis in the quarterfinals, Friday, March 15 at Noon,

The 49ers enter the Tournament on a two-game winning streak. Charlotte's 52-40 win over Saint Joseph's in their regular-season finale gave the 49ers 20 wins for the 15th time in school history. Charlotte's 8-8 record marked the eighth time since 2000 that the 49ers have finished conference play with a .500 record or better.
Chris Braswell, who scored 10 points off the bench against Saint Joseph's, averages 11.6 points per game. Braswell is tied for second on the team in rebounding at 5.3 boards per game. Pierria Henry, who recorded his second straight double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds against Saint Joseph's, averages 10.0 points per game. Henry is tied with Braswell for second on the team in rebounding. Henry leads the team in assists with 109 and steals with 83. Henry ranks among the nation's leaders in steals. Willie Clayton, who scored 12 points against Saint Joseph's, averages 8.1 points per game. Clayton leads the team in rebounding at 6.2 boards per game. Terrence Williams, who recorded his second double-double of the season against Duquesne, averages 7.7 points per game.
Darion Clark averages 6.6 points per game and 4.8 boards per game. Denzel Ingram, who has started 25 of the last 27 games, averages 6.3 points per game. Ingram grabbed a career-high seven rebounds against Saint Joseph's. E. Victor Nickerson, who has tallied five double-figure scoring games this season, averages 5.7 points per game. Ivan Benkovic has knocked down eight three-point field goals in the last three games. Mike Thorne scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds off the bench against Temple, February 24. Colby Lewis enjoyed one of the 49ers signature moments of the season with a three-point field goal at the buzzer on Senior Night against Saint Joseph's.Thursday's game will mark the 19th meeting between Charlotte and Richmond, who leads the all-time series, 11-7. This game will be the first meeting between the two teams in the Atlantic 10 Tournament. Richmond defeated Charlotte, 81-61, at home in their only meeting this season, January 19, 2013. Thursday's game will be second-ever meeting between the two teams on a neutral court. Charlotte defeated Richmond, 112-68, in Buffalo, New York, December 28, 1973 in their only other meeting on a neutral court.
