CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Chelsea Ingersoll was selected as the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon following games played during Feb. 25-March 3.

Ingersoll, a junior from Charlotte, N.C., received the honor for the first time in her career after leading the 49ers in hits (ten), doubles (three), slugging percentage (1.143), and total bases (16) last week. She also finished with four runs and three RBIs.

At the War Eagle Classic in Auburn, she helped her team to a 2-1 record at the tournament. In the ninth inning against Middle Tennessee, Ingersoll stepped up and belted her fourth home run of the season to give Charlotte the 7-4 lead. She tabbed a season-high four hits against the Blue Raiders and scored two runs. Ingersoll was 3-for-4 in a dominating 13-2 win over Southern, while also going 3-for-3 against North Carolina.

Ingersoll currently leads the team in batting (.475) and home runs with four. She’s second on the team in hits with 19 and recorded her sixth multi-hit game of the season against Middle Tennessee.

Charlotte will host Elon on Wednesday, March 6 for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. at the D.L. Phillips Complex. The 49ers will also host Morehead State on Thursday, March 7 at 2 p.m. and Gardner-Webb on Friday, March 8 for a twinbill at 4 p.m.
