CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers women's tennis team will look to conclude its homestand on a positive note when it plays host to UNC Asheville at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.

In what was originally slated for a five-match stretch on its home courts, Charlotte will attempt to play for just the third time during the last two weeks due to inclement weather causing rescheduled dates for later in the spring.

Most recently, the Niners played Thursday afternoon and dropped a 5-2 decision to Elon. Charlotte picked up its two points in singles action, as senior Anna Ekelund and sophomore Lisa Grosselius each posted straight-set victories.

The loss puts the 49ers' record at 6-3 as it begins March.

UNC Asheville owns a 5-3 mark heading into the contest, earning a 4-3 triumph at Wofford Sunday. Three of the five Bulldog victories have come against non-Division I foes with the only other top-level win happening Feb. 2 by a 4-3 margin against USC Upstate.

Saturday's match and all Charlotte home tennis contests are free admission at the on-campus facility.
