CHARLOTTE, N.C. –After losing Saturday's doubleheader to a storm coming through the region, both the baseball 1 p.m. contest and the rest of softball's Charlotte Classic. The snow, which was the first accumulated amount in the region in nearly two years, knocked out three baseball and six scheduled softball contests.

Baseball was able to get Friday's opening-day action in, with the host 49ers taking a 13-7 result.

Softball played twice Friday against Drexel, winning 10-2 and 19-10 in the only action of the weekend.

Softball (4-2) will host the 49ers Invitational next weekend, with a home contest scheduled against Sacred Heart at noon to start the tournament. Charlotte will follow with a 2 p.m. tilt against Western Carolina.

Baseball (1-0) will play next in its road opener, at High Point, on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The 49ers will not return home until a four-game series against Youngstown State, starting Friday, March 1 at 4 p.m.
