The Charlotte 49ers women's
tennis team picked up its second-straight home triumph Friday afternoon,
knocking off Mercer, 4-1, at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex during a

While Mercer (1-3) posted its lone point in singles action, Charlotte used
solid production from the middle of the lineup on down to clinch the victory.
Baker tallied a 6-1, 6-2 decision over Liza Klyachkin in the No. 3 match, while
Ekelund handed Franklin a 6-0, 6-0 setback at No. 4. Iveta Guneva
unbeaten in dual singles play this season, garnering a 6-4, 6-3 win against
Kealee Heffner in the No. 5 slot.
The Niners return to action when they travel to Lynchburg, Va., for a Noon
Saturday contest at Liberty.
