The Charlotte 49ers (17-4, A-10: 5-2), who are currently in a three-way tie for second in the Atlantic 10 and a half game behind league leader VCU, travel to Philadelphia to play Temple (14-7, A-10: 3-4), Wednesday, February 6 at 7 pm.
Chris Braswell, who scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds against Massachusetts, averages 11.4 points per game. Braswell is second on the team in rebounding at 5.7 boards per game. Braswell moved into 15th place on the 49ers career scoring list in the Massachusetts game. Pierria Henry averages 8.8 points per game. Henry leads the team in assists with 71 and steals with 58. Henry ranks among the nation's leaders in steals. Willie Clayton, who scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds against Massachusetts, averages 8.2 points per game. Clayton leads the team in rebounding at 7.3 boards per game. Terrence Williams averages 6.5 points per game. Williams scored eight points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists off the bench in the Massachusetts game.
Darion Clark, who is expected to play in the Temple game after missing the Massachusetts game with an ankle injury, averages 6.3 points per game. Clark is third on the team in rebounding at 4.8 boards per game. Denzel Ingram, who has started the 17 of the last 18 games, averages 6.0 points per game. E. Victor Nickerson, who led the 49ers with 12 points in the Massachusetts game, averages 5.4 points per game. JT Thompson, who made his first start at Charlotte in the Massachusetts game, averages 4.5 points per game. Ivan Benkovic recorded his first career double-figure scoring game with 10 points off the bench against Massachusetts.
This game will mark the 13th meeting between Charlotte and Temple, who leads the all-time series 7-5. Temple defeated Charlotte, 79-57, in their last meeting which came at Halton Arena, January 25, 2012. Former 49ers standout Javarris Barnett led the 49ers with 14 points. Braswell scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds in that game. Temple defeated Charlotte, 76-67, in their last meeting at Temple, January 26, 2011. Former 49er Derrio Green and Braswell each scored 15 points apiece in that game.
