CHARLOTTE, N.C – Since the opening of the 2012-13 indoor season, the Charlotte track and field program has had an athlete receive an Atlantic 10 Weekly Award and Monday was no exception as Anthony Campbell was named the Men’s Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

Campbell was named Men’s Rookie of the Week after competing at the Hokie Invitational hosted by Virginia Tech over the weekend. The Washington, D.C., native finished third in the triple jump event with a season-best mark of 48'0.50, which is an Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America (IC4A) qualifying standard.

The rookie also claimed the A-10 weekly honor on December 3 after he took second place in the triple jump at the JDL College Kickoff, finishing with a mark of 47’3.

Charlotte returns back to action on February 1 when it travels to Winston-Salem for the JDL Hilton Invitational.
