CHARLOTTE, N.C. - For the second straight week sophomore T'Sheila Mungo was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Performer of the Week along with Alvonna Blakney being tabbed as the Women's Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday for meets competed Jan. 15-20.

Mungo broke the school record in the 500m run with a time a 1:11.03, breaking the previous indoor record (1:12.68) at the Virginia Tech Invitational at Rector Field House, Friday evening in Blacksburg. Mungo who was the top collegiate finisher, was second out of 23 competitors. Mungo also won the 400m (54.97), setting a new personal record. That time ranks second on Charlotte's all-time top ten list.

Blakney, who has garnered her second consecutive Rookie of the Week honor, finished fourth in the 60m hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.70 seconds, an ECAC qualifying standard. That time is tied for fifth on the Charlotte all-time top ten list.

The 49ers will return to Blacksburg next weekend to compete in the Hokie Invitational beginning on Friday, Jan. 26.
