"This meet was just what we were looking for at this point of the season," said head coach Robert Olesen. "We gained some needed traction after the winter break and have built up a little momentum to carry us into the Hokie Invitational next week. We had a number of impressive results with two school records and some top 50 national performances. Even where we didn't necessarily get the result we were looking for, in many cases it was evident that the athlete is on the verge of making significant progress and we'll be looking for that next week."

The 49ers will return to Blacksburg next weekend to compete in the Hokie Invitational beginning on Friday, Jan. 26.
