The Charlotte 49ers have struck a partnership with CW 46 WJZY to bring broadcasts of the 49ers men's basketball Atlantic 10 road games at George Washington and Butler into the Charlotte market.

"We're excited to be able to make these games available to our fan base," said 49ers Director of Athletics Judy Rose.  "We are pleased that WJZY was willing to work with us to make this happen and truly appreciate their partnership."

Shawn Harris, Vice President and General Manager of CW 46 was equally enthusiastic about broadcasting local college basketball on his station. "As the Official Broadcast Partner with the ACC, the local community already looks to CW46 and My TV12 to watch great college basketball. With the addition of these Charlotte 49ers games we are taking that to the next level.  And unlike cable sports channels these games will be available over the air for free to every single home in the twenty-two county Charlotte TV market. The winners are the viewers."

The Jan. 26 game at George Washington at 2 p.m. is being broadcast by Comcast Sportsnet.  The 49ers have worked with CW 46 WJZY to bring that broadcast back to Charlotte.  It will air locally on CW 46 WJZY TV.

The Feb. 13 game at Butler at 7:00 p.m. is being broadcast on WISH TV/WNDY in Indianapolis.  Although not initially available on satellite, the 49ers and CW46 WJZY also worked to make that game available to fans in the Charlotte market.  It will air on Antenna TV on WJZY 46.2.  Antenna TV can be found on Time Warner Cable 147 or 46.2.

Antenna TV is also available on Comporium (120), Charter (80), SkyBest (262), ComPas (143), ComPas Morganton (113) and RST Fiber (8).

These road game telecasts complement a schedule that has seen the 49ers appear on national TV five times during the non-conference season in addition to other regional broadcasts and a pair of ESPN3 broadcasts.

Charlotte is off to a 15-2 start in 2012-13, its best start since 1976-77. Charlotte travels to Richmond, this weekend and welcomes Xavier to Halton Arena for the annual Whiteout, next Wednesday. Fans can purchase tickets to the 49ers basketball games at or by calling the 49ers athletic ticket office at 704/687-4949.
