The Charlotte 49ers men's tennis team (2-0) begins their spring schedule when they face 39th-ranked South Carolina on the road, Saturday, January 12 at 10 am.

"We're excited to kick off the 2013 spring season against South Carolina down in Columbia," said Coach Billy Boykin, who is in his third season at Charlotte. "They were an NCAA tournament team last season and will be every bit as good this year.  We're looking forward to what will surely be a tough first test for us."

Jordi Massalle Ferrer and Jack Williams each recorded double-figure singles wins in the fall. Massalle Ferrer led the 49ers with 12 singles wins. While, Williams won 11 singles matches.

Alex Calott won eight singles matches. Paul Cisti and Forrest Edwards each have seven singles wins this season so far.

The doubles team of Massalle Ferrer and Alex Weber were a perfect 5-0 in the fall. While, the doubles team of Williams and Forrest Edwards went 5-2 in the fall.

This past fall, the 49ers played the majority of their matches in tournaments. However, the 49ers did defeat Belmont Abbey and Johnson C. Smith in dual matches in late September at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.

Charlotte will play their first three spring dual matches on the road. Then, the 49ers play five straight dual matches at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex beginning with a match against Tennessee Tech, Saturday, January 26.
