Charlotte, N.C. -- Charlotte 49ers head football coach Brad Lambert has announced the signing of 6-2; 240 lb junior college transfer Caleb Clayton-Molby (Panama City Beach, Fla.) out of Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, Ga.

Clayton-Molby, a linebacker and fullback, will be looked at as a H-Back and Inside Linebacker for the 49ers.

"Caleb really answers a couple questions for us," Lambert said.  "First is age.  We're looking for some older guys in this class to add some age to our team.  He also brings alot of versatility.  We're recruiting him as an H-back but we know he can play either side of the ball.  What attracted us to him is his athleticism and that versatility that we've really looked for.  On top of that is his ability to get here in January and get an early start in being a part of our program."

Originally from Kansas, Clayton-Molby finished up his high school career at Arnold High School in Panama City, Fla.  He had 123 tackles and two sacks as a senior there.

At Georgia Military College, Clayton-Molby was second on the team with 49 tackles with four sacks, four forced fumbles and an interception.

The Charlotte 49ers will compete in their inaugural season in 2013.  They completed their first season of fall workouts in November.   To purchase Football Seat Licenses (FSLs), fans can contact the 49ers Ticket Office or Athletic Foundation at 704-687-4949 or 704-687-4950.
