ATLANTA, GA - The Charlotte 49ers (9-1) conclude their two-game road trip in the state of Georgia when they play Kennesaw State (1-7) on the road, Sunday, December 16 at 4 pm.
Chris Braswell leads the 49ers in scoring at 14.1 points per game. Braswell recorded his seventh double-figure scoring game of the season with 13 points off the bench at Miami. Braswell leads the team in rebounding at 6.9 boards per game. DeMario Mayfield is second on the team in scoring at nine points per game. He has recorded five double-figure scoring games off the bench this season. Terrence Williams is third on the team in scoring at 8.7 points per game. Williams, who has started all ten games this season, has recorded four double-figure scoring games this season. Willie Clayton, who has recorded four straight double-figure scoring games, is fourth on the team in scoring at 8.5 points per game. Clayton is second on the team in rebounding at 6.5 boards per game. Pierria Henry is fifth on the team in scoring at 7.5 points per game. He leads the team in assists with 38 and steals with 25. Denzel Ingram, who has started the last seven games, is sixth on the team in scoring at 6.9 points per game. Ingram leads the team with 12 three-point field goals made. Darion Clark is seventh on the team in scoring at 6.6 points per game. Clark is third on the team in rebounding at 5.7 boards per game. JT Thompson has given the 49ers quality minutes off the bench this season. He averages 4.6 points per game. E. Victor Nickerson, who started three games this season, averages 4.4 points per game. Ivan Benkovic has knocked down at least one three point field goal in five of the last seven games.
This game will mark the second ever meeting between Charlotte and Kennesaw State. The 49ers defeated Kennesaw State, 74-63, in Halton Arena in their only other meeting, January 18, 2012. Mayfield led three 49ers in double-figures with 25 points. Kennesaw State is a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference. The 49ers are 21-17 all-time against Atlantic Sun Conference teams. The 49ers have previously played East Tennessee State, Kennesaw State, Jacksonville, Mercer and Stetson.
