2016: Started in all 11 of his appearances before missing the final month due to injury … picked up the victory in Charlotte’s 7-3 season-opening win over William & Mary on February 19th … helped the Niners score their first win over three on the year against nationally-ranked opponents shutting down #13 Florida Atlantic with seven strong innings of work on April 8th … went at-least five innings in all but one start during the year … his season-high of 7.2 innings came against Kent State on March 9th allowing just one earned run on five hits … tied a career-high with eight strikeouts on March 11th against Fairfield … named to Conference USA’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
2015: NCCSIA All-State Second Team … Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, 4/27 … Made 13 starts on the mound as Charlotte’s Friday night starter going 6-5 on the year with a 2.46 to lead the Niners in both categories … also led the team with 87.2 innings of work, 58 strikeouts, five pickoffs and an opponent’s batting average of .228 … became the Niners workhorse on the mound also seeing eight of his 13 starts cross the pitch count century mark … after Tommy John surgery forced him to miss 2014, his first two starts resulted in allowing just nine hits while striking out 11 over the course of 12 innings, six innings in each stint, earning his first victory in a 1-0 shutout over N.C. State in Savannah, Georgia … tossed a career-high eight innings allowing three runs on four hits fanning a new career-best eight in a 5-4 series-opening win at Conference USA foe FIU … followed that up with a 7.2 inning dominant performance hurling a six-hit, six-strikeout shutout on national television as Charlotte blanked Louisiana Tech 5-0 on the American Sports Network … earned C-USA “Pitcher of the Week” honors after going the distance in a series-opening win at UAB, starting a Niners weekend sweep, allowing just a half-dozen hits with five strikeouts to secure his fifth win of the season … ended his season in similar fashion to the start by combining to go 13 innings allowing an unearned run, three hits in each start while striking out six … five of those six came in his season-finale victory, 4-3, over UTSA at Hayes Stadium … led pitching staff in C-USA play with five wins, 2.58 ERA, 69.2 innings, 41 strikeouts and .214 opponents average … named to Conference USA’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
2014: Did not play ... named to Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll ... Dean's List (spring) ... Athletic Director's List (fall).
2013: Made 19 appearances, most for a freshman pitcher (team was 9-10 in those contests) ... DId not allow an earned run in first 10 appearances, a span of 8.1 innings ... All nine earned runs came in final nine appearances, a span of 9.0 innings ... Earned save in first season appearances, recording an out with two runners on and two outs in ninth in 7-4 win over Pfeiffer on February 21st ... Tossed three scoreless innings to finish come-from-behind home win over Kent State on March 8th for first collegiate win ... Struck out season-high four in three perfect innings in that contest in walk-off victory ... Long outing of the season was first loss, a 41-pitch effort of 3.2 innings in 4-3 loss to VCU on March 30th ... Struck out 13 and only walked two during the season, the fewest walked of anyone on the pitching staff ...Only allowed more than one hit in an appearance three times ... Athletic Director's List (fall).
Prep - Played for Southwest Guilford High and coach Reid Holmes ... Current teammate Brock Hudgens also pitched for the Cowboys in his prep career ... Geoghegan was named 2012 Rawlings All-Atlantic Regional Honorable Mention after an All-Conference nod in 2011 ... He tossed a seven-inning no-hitter for High Point American Legion Post 87 team on July 6th, 2011.
