CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Another midweek road game awaits the Charlotte 49ers women's basketball team, as it will travel to the Atlantic Ocean and Wilmington, N.C., to face UNC Wilmington at 5 p.m. Wednesday. It will mark the 17th all-time meeting between the two in-state foes.

Charlotte enters the contest with a 4-2 record after a 70-54 setback to Florida State Sunday afternoon at home. The 49ers extended their consecutive games streak with at least one 3-pointer to 52 in the loss.

Senior Jennifer Hailey tallied 16 points and hauled in 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the campaign, tying her for the national lead with six other players across the country. Hailey's 16 points move her within 13 of tying Alicia Abernathy (2000-03) for 19th on the school's all-time scoring list. She also has climbed within nine of matching Charlette Hargrove (1994-97) for fifth in program history for total rebounds.

Hailey had one blocked shot against the Seminoles, giving her at least one block in 18 straight games dating back to Jan. 18, 2012, against La Salle.

Joining Hailey in the double-double club Sunday was junior Ny Hammonds. Hammonds recorded 10 points to go along with her career-best 10 assists. As of the release of the official NCAA statistics Monday, Hammonds continues to lead the country with 7.8 assists per game for the second-straight week.

UNC Wilmington, under the direction of first-year head coach Adell Harris, is 1-4 thus far this season. The Seahawks are coming off a 73-58 loss at Tulane Sunday and picked up their lone victory, a 59-45 decision, against North Carolina Central Nov. 28.

Kelva Atkins is averaging a team-high 10.8 points per game, edging out the 10.0 average by Jessica Freeman. Karneshia Garrett is UNCW's top rebounder at 12.2 per contest.

Charlotte leads the all-time series 11-5 despite the Seahawks escaping Halton Arena last season with a 74-73 win. The 49ers picked up a 66-50 victory in the last meeting in Wilmington, Dec. 2, 2010.
