CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers women's basketball team returns to Halton Arena at 2 p.m. Sunday for a contest against unbeaten Florida State out of the ACC. The game will serve as the squad's Blackout promotion, as all Niners fans are asked to wear black instead of their usual green to support the program.

Charlotte enters the match up with a 4-1 record after having picked up a 62-59 victory at UCF Wednesday night in Orlando, Fla. The 49ers were once again led by the senior post tandem of Amanda Dowe and Jennifer Hailey, who each collected a double-double in the triumph. Each player took control of the bulk of the team's scoring with Hailey registering 12 points in the opening half, while Dowe pouring in 13 during the next 20 minutes.

On the season, Dowe is averaging a team-high 16.0 points per game, just ahead of Hailey's 15.2 average. Hailey, however, has the slight edge in rebounding, 12.2 to 12.0, through the first five contests.

The domination of the post players gives Charlotte two among the national leaders in rebounding, a rare feat for any school.

Florida State on the other hand has earned votes in both national polls this week after it improved to 6-0 following an 83-69 win against Iowa at home Wednesday night. The Seminoles have yet to play a true road game, with Sunday being their first this year, as they have played four times at home and two in a neutral-site tournament after Thanksgiving in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Leonor Rodriguez paces a balanced scoring attack, featuring five players in double figures, with 18.0 points per game for head coach Sue Semrau's squad. Joining her in double-digit scoring are Natasha Howard (15.3 ppg), Chelsea Davis (14.2), Chasity Clayton (12.7) and Alexa Deluzio (12.5). Clayton is the team's top rebounder at 7.8 per game.

Florida State holds a slight 2-1 edge in the all-time series after picking up a 64-62 victory in last year's meeting, Dec. 4, 2011, in Tallahassee, Fla. Hailey led the 49ers in that contest with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds in just 27 minutes.
