Charlotte, NC- The nationally-ranked Charlotte 49ers men's soccer team (12-2-3, A-10: 6-1-1) (11th in Soccer America, 13th in College Soccer News and 21st in NSCAA polls) plays George Washington (5-12-0, A-10: 2-6-0) in their final regular-season game at Transamerica Field, Saturday, November 3 at 5 pm. The 49ers are currently tied for first in the Atlantic 10 with VCU. Each team has one game left to play this weekend before next week's Atlantic 10 Tournament which will be played at Charlotte's Transamerica Field, November 8-11.

Prior to Saturday's game, the 49ers will honor seniors, Isaac Caughran, Owen Darby, Jennings Rex, Donnie Smith and Owen Darby, who are playing in their final regular-season home game.

Since joining the Atlantic 10, the 49ers are 6-0-1 in their last regular-season home game.

Rex, who scored the game-winning goal in the 49ers last game against Butler, leads the team with eight goals. Giuseppe Gentile is second on the team with seven goals. Smith is third on the team with three goals. Gentile and Caughran are tied for the team-lead with five assists. Tyler Gibson has recorded four assists this season.

The 49ers defense behind the play of goalkeeper Klay Davis and defenders Anthony Perez, Thomas Allen, Nick Barnhorst, David Mayer, Aaron Weldon and Biko Bradnock-Brennan has been stellar this season. The 49ers have recorded nine shutouts and limited 14 foes to a goal or less this season.

Saturday's game will mark the sixth meeting between Charlotte and George Washington. The 49ers lead the all-time series, 4-1, after having won the last four meetings between the two teams. Charlotte defeated George Washington, 2-0, on the road in their last meeting, October 15, 2010. Will Mayhew and former 49ers standout Andres Cuero scored goals for the 49ers in that game. Charlotte defeated George Washington, 6-0, in their last meeting at Transamerica Field, October 9, 2009. Smith, Darby and Rex scored goals in that game. Former 49ers stalwarts Adam Gross, who scored two goals, and Luke Exley also scored goals in that game.

Admission to the game is $5 for adults and $2 for youth (17-and-under). While Charlotte 49ers students are admitted free with a valid student ID.
