The Charlotte men's tennis team will wrap up its fall schedule at the Charleston Challenge beginning on Friday, Nov. 2. The tournament is hosted by the College of Charleston.

The 49ers recently competed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regionals in Cary, N.C. Jack Williams led the Niners by winning four singles matches in the consolation bracket. He knocked off Duke's DJ McCall, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4. Then, he defeated Appalachian State's Sebastian King, 7-6 (5), 6-4. Williams also defeated College of Charleston's Sebastian Lopez, 6-3, 6-3, and Coastal Carolina's Ted Nilsson, 6-3, 6-4, in his final match. Williams has had a successful fall season, owning a 9-4 singles record thus far.

J. Massallé Ferrer also has performed well on the courts for the 49ers with a 9-2 singles mark. Three other Niners have etched five or more singles' wins (Paul Cisti, Forrest Edwards, and Alex Calott).

In their only team dual matches of the season, Charlotte capped 7-0 wins  over Belmont Abbey and Johnson C. Smith.

In doubles action, J. Massallé Ferrer and Alex Weber have led Charlotte, posting a 5-0 mark followed by the duo of Edwards and Williams (5-2).

The Charleston Challenge  will conclude on Sunday, Nov. 4.
