Charlotte volleyball finished with a split of the Philadelphia road trip Saturday night in a 3-0 loss (25-14, 25-18, 25-19) loss to Temple at McGonigle Hall in Atlantic 10 Conference volleyball action. The 49ers are now 10-13 overall, 2-9 in the A-10. The Owls improve to 16-9, 6-5 in league play.

The Owls opened up a 6-3 lead in the first, expanding that to 15-6 to take control of the match early on. Bianca Rouse (Columbia. S.C. / Keenan HS) led Charlotte with a pair of kills in the opening set.

The second set featured five ties, but the Owls took a 13-11 lead and never lost it from that point in the seven-point set-two result.

A pair of Amanda Videmsek (Highland Heights, Ohio / Beaumont School) kills started the third set, but a 4-0 run by Temple, gave the Owls an early lead until the Niners forced a six-all tie.  Ties were forced at 10 and 11, but the Owls ran up a 6-1 run at that point and kept the 49ers at bay for the match victory.


Rouse finished with the team-high total of 10 kills. Senior libero Jenna Litoborski (Lemont, Ill) ties for the match high with 15 digs. Freshman setter Britney Leigh Held (Brookfield, Wis. / Brookfield Central HS) had her second career double-double, both this weekend, with 23 assists and 10 digs.

Charlotte will return home for its final two matches next weekend, hosting league-leading and No. 15 Dayton Friday night before Sunday afternoon's senior day match against Xavier. The Friday night match will be free youth night, with all youth 17 and under receiving free admission. It will also be Faculty/Staff night, with members of the University's faculty and staff receiving free admission when showing their valid faculty/staff ID.
