Charlotte volleyball hits the road for the first time this month with a pair of Atlantic 10 Conference weekend matches, at La Salle on Friday night and at Temple Saturday night. Both matches take place at 7 p.m. in Philadelphia. These will be the only meetings of the season for Charlotte against the Explorers and Owls.

The 49ers started the month with five-straight home matches, after beginning the A-10 slate with four consecutive road contests. Charlotte split last weekend's pair, defeating second-place Duquesne Friday before falling in four sets to George Washington Saturday night.

Charlotte is 9-12 on the season, 1-8 in the A-10. La Salle is 4-21 this season, with an 0-9 league record. Temple is 15-8, 5-4 in conference matches.

The 49ers have never lost to La Salle (13-0) in the all-time series. The Explorers have only won three sets against the 49ers in those meetings, all taking place as conference matches. Charlotte has won 17 straight sets against the Explorers, dating back to the 2008 season.

The 49ers have won the last three in the series against the Owls, their longest winning streak against Temple in the all-time series. Charlotte is 6-7 versus the Owls, also taking place within the confines of Atlantic 10 membership (2005-present).

The 49ers are fourth in the league in opponent hitting percentage (.173), fifth in assists and sixth in digs in the latest report. La Salle is last in all three categories, with Temple sitting seventh in opponent hitting percentage, second in assists and third in digs as of today.

Charlotte's Bianca Rouse (Columbia, S.C. / Keenan HS) is sixth in the conference in kills per set, at 3.39, while junior Amanda Videmsek (Highland Heights, Ohio / Beaumont School) is eighth, with 3.29 kills per set. La Salle's Kelly Scanlon is 10th, at 3.14, while Temple also has a pair on the list. Elyse Burkert is second, at 3.99 and teammate Gabriella Matautia sits fourth at 3.89 in 2012.

Half of the eight players in the A-10 that have a digs-per-set average above four this season are involved in matches between these three teams this weekend. La Salle has the sixth and seventh-best digs per set numbers, with Charlotte's Jenna Litoborski (Lemont, Ill.) fourth in the league at 4.31 per set and Temple's Chelsea Tupuola leading the conference at 5.33 per set.

Charlotte will return home for its final two matches next weekend, hosting league-leading Dayton Friday night before Sunday afternoon's senior day match against Xavier. The Friday night match will be free youth night, with all youth 17 and under receiving free admission. It will also be Faculty/Staff night, with members of the University's faculty and staff receiving free admission when showing their valid faculty/staff ID.
