Charlotte volleyball completes the last of the five-match home stand this weekend with a Friday night match versus Duquesne and a Saturday evening tilt versus George Washington. Both Atlantic 10 Conference matches take place at 7 p.m. inside Halton Arena. The 49ers are looking for a first league win, sitting at 8-11 on the season, 0-7 in the A-10. Duquesne enters with an 18-6 mark overall, 6-1 and in second place in the A-10. George Washington will play at VCU on Friday night before making the trip to Charlotte. The Colonials are 8-13 overall and 5-2, in a three-way tie for third in the league.

Charlotte played both of these teams on the road to start conference play, with three-set sweeps at the hands of each in the third weekend of September.

The 49ers are fourth in assists per set (11.96), kills per set (12.52) and digs per set (15.87) in conference so far this season. Duquesne is third in five of the seven categories tracked by the league. GW is in the bottom half of all categories except for service aces, where the Colonials sit fourth (1/32) at this point of the season.

The 49ers are averaging more than a kill, an assist and a dig per set more than opponents this season. Six of Charlotte's last 11 set losses have come in five-point margins or less.

The Charlotte season lead for kills has bounced back and forth in recent weeks between Charlotte's two co-captains. Currently, junior middle Amanda Videmsek (Highland Heights, Ohio / Beaumont School) holds the kills lead, with 223, while senior outside hitter Bianca Rouse (Columbia, S.C. / Keenan HS) leads in kills per set, at 3.39 with her 217 total kills. Videmsek and junior defensive specialist Chrissy Drake (Green, S.C. / Riverside HS) are the only two players to appear in all 67 sets for the team this season.

Friday night, the 49ers will recognize clubs and youth teams that have coordinated an appearance at the match. Saturday night, the team will hold a post-match autograph session. Tickets are free for University students with ID and all others are available by calling the 49er Ticket Office at (704) 687-4949.
