Charlotte, NC- The nationally-ranked Charlotte 49ers men's soccer team (8-2-3) is 12th in the first NCAA RPI report. The RPI rankings play a major role in determining the field for the NCAA Tournament.

This weekend, the 49ers conclude their four-game home stand with games against Massachusetts (Friday, October 19 at 7 pm) and Rhode Island (Sunday, October 21 at 1 pm) at Transamerica Field. For Friday's game against Massachusetts, the 49ers will wear pink jerseys for Breast Cancer Awareness. The jerseys worn at the game will be auctioned off. Fans can also donate at the game. All proceeds from the auction and donations taking at the game will go towards the 49ers volleyball team's Dig Pink initiative.

Jennings Rex, who recorded his second multi-goal game of the season against La Salle last Sunday, leads the 49ers in goals with five. Giuseppe Gentile is second on the team with four goals. Donnie Smith is third on the team with three goals. He leads the team with two game-winning goals. Aidan Kirkbride has scored two goals this season. Isaac Caughran and Tyler Gibson are tied for the team lead with three assists. Gentile, Smith, Kirkbride, Will Mayhew and Nick Barnhorst have each recorded two assists this season.
