CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte softball team heads into its final weekend of the fall schedule as it host a four-game homestand at the D.L. Phillips Softball Complex, beginning on Friday, Sept. 28. Admission to all fall games is free.

The Niners are set to take on South Carolina on Friday at 6 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 29 Charlotte will host Greensboro College at noon. The finale of the 49ers' fall season will conclude on Sunday, Sept.30 when they face South Carolina at 11 a.m. and Elon at 3 p.m.

In its 2012 fall season debut last weekend, Charlotte topped all of its opponents, for a 4-0 start. The Niners shutout Spartanburg Methodist 8-0, as pitcher Katie Watkins led the way with a game-high eight strikeouts for the win.

In its second game against Spartanburg Methodist, Charlotte walked away with a 9-8 win. Chelsea Stamey and Jessie Fennell each homered en route to the victory. Pitcher Chelsea Lisikatos recorded the win for the 49ers.

On Saturday, the Niners defeated St. Andrews, 2-0 and Furman 4-1. Against St. Andrews, Jessica Plemmons led the offense with a triple and Lindsey Holloman also hit a double. Lisikatos recorded the win in the circle for Charlotte.

The Niners used the long ball against Furman to tally two homers, courtesy of Kalie Lang and Plemmons. Watkins pitched the entire game for Charlotte and recorded the win.
