The Charlotte women's
basketball program and the Atlantic 10 office announced Tuesday morning the
49ers' conference games for the upcoming 2012-13 campaign. Charlotte will play
host to seven league matchups, while traveling on the road for seven others.
The lone opponent the 49ers will not face will be Dayton.
"We are excited to have the schedule completed," head coach Cara Consuegra
said. "It's good to know, conference and non-conference, everything we have top
to bottom. First thing that jumps out is home game against Fordham on TV. We
are really excited about having that game at home and to showcase our venue and
our fans on a great national network."
Charlotte opens the slate with a home meeting with Fordham, January 13, live on
CBS Sports Network. As of now, it will be the lone televised contest for the
program and the first home TV tip since Jan. 26, 2010, against Richmond on the
After a quick mid-week trip to Rhode Island, the 49ers return home to face
Xavier before back-to-back road contests at Saint Louis and St. Bonaventure to

The final stretch will feature the 49ers on the road for three of the last four

rookie, VCU Feb. 28. Away tilts at Massachusetts, La Salle and Richmond occur
in the last two weeks of the regular season.
"Our February, the entire stretch, will be really tough. We face a lot of the
top tier teams in the conference as well as some tough games on the road.
Certainly, we are happy about having five out of the eight during the month at
home in our friendly environment of Halton Arena. It will be a testing stretch
for us throughout the season."
Charlotte will then compete in the Atlantic 10 Championships, March 8-11 in
Philadelphia before the title game March 16 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn,
